Welcome Home

Welcome Home

Welcome to Howlett & Co! We officially took the plunge and bought our very own home. We have started this blog so that you can follow along as we overhaul this darling 1910 multi-family house. We'll be posting regularly about all the woes and hopefully successes of our renovation.

From gutting bathrooms and kitchens, to removing walls and expanding to the attic, there should be lots to talk about! And let's not forget all of the landscaping and interior styling that's to come. We hope you enjoy and follow along with us. Howlett & Co is officially up and running.

Home sweet home

Home sweet home

When it came to buying a house, we knew if we were going to find a multi-family property in our neighborhood, we'd better expect a project.

Out of all the houses we looked at, this place by far had the best enclosure. The extra details with the dental molding, scalloped shingles, and trim really go a long way.

The outside of the house was one of the big draws for us in deciding to place an offer. Given our purist nature when it comes to materials, we were hoping to find a place with the original wood siding. This house may not check that box but the vinyl siding job is a pretty darn good one. Plus with a roof that's only a couple years old, the outside of this house made it super easy love. The inside, on the other hand, is not quite as picture perfect. You'll see soon enough!

And now for a few more photos. We can't wait to take you along with us on this crazy ride of a renovation. Hopefully we are still as optimistic and joyous as we are today when it's all said and done.
